Do you sincerely want to make government small?<\/p>\n

If so, please take the Small Government Pledge\u2120:<\/p>\n

THE SMALL GOVERNMENT PLEDGE\u2120<\/h2>\n

\u201cI vote small government. Every issue. Every time. No exceptions. No excuses.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWhereas shrinking government involves reducing its size, scope, spending, taxation, debt, liabilities, assets, and authority; and whereas expanding government entails increasing any of these parameters, <\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. I will vote\u00a0for<\/u><\/em>\u00a0and support only<\/em>\u00a0those candidates who campaign to\u00a0shrink<\/em>\u00a0Big Government (excepting those candidates who, if elected, will not have such authority.)<\/li>\n
  2. I will vote\u00a0against<\/u><\/em>\u00a0and refuse to support or endorse any candidate who campaigns to expand\u00a0<\/em>today\u2019s Big Government.<\/li>\n
  3. I will not settle for the “lesser of two evils.” If there is no small government candidate running for a particular office, I will write in a small government candidate, or the words \u2018small government,\u2019 on the ballot.<\/li>\n
  4. I will vote\u00a0against<\/u><\/em>\u00a0all ballot measures, referendums, and bonds that expand government and for<\/u><\/em>\u00a0all ballot measures and referendums that shrink government.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u00a0<\/strong>\u201cIf I am a candidate for public office, now or in the future:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. I will rigorously campaign on specific proposals to substantially shrink today\u2019s Big Government.<\/li>\n
    2. I will refrain from campaigning on or endorsing any\u00a0expansion<\/em> of Big Government.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      \u201cIf I am an elected or appointed officeholder with the authority to appropriate funds or mandate regulations, now or in the future:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. My top priority will be to shrink today\u2019s Big Government. I will actively and ambitiously work toward that end.<\/li>\n
      2. I will consistently vote\u00a0for<\/em>, or sign into law, measures that make government smaller than it is today.<\/li>\n
      3. I will consistently vote\u00a0against<\/em>, or veto, measures that make government bigger than it is today.<\/li>\n
      4. I will quickly and visibly publish online every vote I cast so that my commitment to small government can be easily verified.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
