Photos - Good, Bad, None

Even more than headlines, photographs catch our attention. Newspaper editors can control which articles are more likely to be read by including a photo - or not.

They can also put people in a good or bad light by choosing the subject of the photo. A person who's smiling, who's hair and makeup are well-done, and who's expression looks warm and purposeful will win the hearts of readers much more than one who's scowling, unfriendly, or otherwise looking bad.
